Carl Kollmann

Painter, draughtsman, engraver. Studied at the Königliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich. Moved to St Petersburg to work with his uncle Ignaz Sebastian Klauber (1803). Taught drawing and lithography at the School for the Deaf and Dumb (1821–24) and Page School (1822–26). Lithographed views of St Petersburg published by Alexandre Pluchart and the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (1820s), painted genre scenes and the interiors of the Yussupov Palace (1831–33). Academician of watercolour painting (1839). Worked in Italy (1846).
