Julius Eduard Keibel

Julius Eduard Keibel (1825–1882), German jeweller, goldsmith, silversmith. Hallmark: IK or Keibel. Studied under his father Johann Wilhelm Keibel and inherited his workshop in St Petersburg. Awarded the imperial warrant for the production of all Russian orders.

German jeweller, goldsmith, silversmith. Hallmark: IK or Keibel. Born in the family of Johann Wilhelm Keibel in St Petersburg (1825). Studied under his father (early 1840s). Master of the guild of foreign masters (1844) and merchant of the first guild (1859). Worked in his own business (1844–62) and inherited his father’s workshop (1862). Awarded the imperial warrant for the production of all Russian orders (1862–82). Owned five houses in St Petersburg (1880). Died in St Petersburg (1882), where his work was continued by his son and apprentice Albert Konstantin Keibel (1882–1910).
