Naum Mogilevsky

Died: 1975, Leningrad

Jewish sculptor. Born as Nokhim-Leib Mogilevsky in the family of Schneer (Semyon) Mogilevsky in the town of Haradok (Gorodok) in Vitebsk Province (1895). Studied under a stone carver in Gorod (1905–07), under Ivan (Jean) Andreoletti at the School of Drawing of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (1910–16) and under Alexander Matveyev at the VKhUTEMAS/VKhUTEIN (1917–22). Member of the Circle of Artists (from 1928). Lived and worked in Petrograd/Leningrad. Died in Leningrad and buried in the Jewish Cemetery at 66a Alexandrovskoe Farm Prospekt in Nevsky District (1975). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1923).
