Mitrofan Grekov

Painter, dioramist. Born in the family of Pavel Martyschenko on the farmstead of Sharapayevka in the Don Region (1882). Studied under Kyriakos Kostandi and Gennady Ladyzhensky at the Odessa School of Art (1899–1903) and under Ilya Repin, Franz Roubaud and Pavel Chistyakov at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1903–11). Member of the Union of Artists (1932). Died in Sebastopole (1934). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1907). Contributed to the exhibitions of the Fellowship of Artists (1912, 1916), Imperial Academy of Arts (1912–14, 1916), Society of Russian Watercolourists (1912, 1916, 1917), Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (1925, 1928, 1929), Union of Soviet Artists (1931), Fifteen Years of the Red Army at the Russian Museum in Leningrad (1933), Artists of the RSFSR Over Fifteen Years (1933), Internationale Kunst-Ausstellung at the Glaspalast in Munich (1913), Exhibition of Russian Art in Cologne (1929) and Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne in Paris (1937).
