Pyotr Tatarnikov

Pyotr Tatarnikov (born 1953): Russian painter, graphic artist, teacher. Graduated from the Leningrad Secondary School of Art and the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Worked at the Academy of Arts of the USSR and taught at the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and St Petersburg University. Member of the Union of Artists and the St Petersburg Academy of Modern Art of Immortals.

Painter, graphic artist, teacher. Born in the family of Georgy Tatarnikov and Irina von Dervis in Leningrad (1953). Graduated from the Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1972) and Andrei Mylnikov’s creative studio at the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (1978). Worked at the creative studio of monumental painting of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1978–81). Taught drawing, painting and composition at the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (1982–91) and drawing and painting at the Faculty of Arts of St Petersburg University (2009–13). Member of the Union of Artists (1982) and the St Petersburg Academy of Modern Art of Immortals (1996). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1987), including Times of Change: Art in the Soviet Union (1960–85) at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2006) and Poésie de l’eau dans l’Art Russe at the Palais Lumie?re in Evian (2007).
