Dmitry Tugarinov

Born: 1955, Moscow

Sculptor, teacher. Born in the family of Nikita Tugarinov and sculptress Sofia Druzhinina in Moscow (1955). Studied at the Vasily Surikov Institute of Art in Moscow (1973–79). Member of the Union of Artists (1981). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (1996), full member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2007). Taught sculpture and composition at the Vasily Surikov Institute of Art in Moscow (from 2005). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1976), including All Creatures Great and Small: Russian Animal Art (18th to 21st Centuries) at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2004) and one-man shows in Puschino (1980) and Moscow (1993, 1996).
